The State of the Mobile Web in Higher Education (2012)

The goal of this survey is to assess how colleges and universities respond to the needs of the increasing population of mobile device owners.

This is the 2nd edition of this survey. Results from last year's survey are available on my blog.

Please take the survey whether or not your institution has a mobile solution - as I'm trying to evaluate the current state for higher education as a whole - and not just for early adopters.

The results of this survey will be used for several presentations, a white paper and an article.

The data you provide will only be used for research purposes. You can share your email address if you want to receive an executive summary.

  A note on privacy
This survey is anonymous.
The record kept of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you unless a specific question in the survey has asked for this. If you have responded to a survey that used an identifying token to allow you to access the survey, you can rest assured that the identifying token is not kept with your responses. It is managed in a separate database, and will only be updated to indicate that you have (or haven't) completed this survey. There is no way of matching identification tokens with survey responses in this survey.

Questions
For the purpose of this survey we chose to define MOBILE DEVICES as devices that can connect to the Web, are mobile in nature and offer a user experience different than the one offered by a traditional computer.

In this survey, MOBILE DEVICES include smartphones, mobile phones, iPad, tablets but NOT laptops or netbooks.
